Roger joins the ranks of Lodge Membership Officers
October 1, 2021Quarterly Communication meetings have resumed as we emerge tentatively from the pandemic. They have always been enjoyable occasions, affording Master Masons the opportunity to witness an impressive ceremony conducted by Masonic Heads in the Grand Temple at Freemasons’ Hall in London.
“The December meeting is traditionally a particularly well attended event. Our Provincial Grand Master has always been keen that as many Lincolnshire Master Masons as possible attend to enjoy the day,” said VW Bro. John Crutchley, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master.
If you’d like to be part of this event, here’s how to reserve a place:
All attendees must be booked in for Quarterly Communications beforehand. To enable us to do this for you, please forward the following information to: lincs.qcomms@yahoo.com prior to Friday 26th November;
- Full Name
- Lodge Name and Number
- Telephone number
If you are a Master Mason but have not attained the rank of a Lodge Warden, please also provide;
- Grand Lodge Certificate Number

Your GL Certificate number is not required if you are currently an active Warden, Master in office, or Past Master. We will not process personal data for any purpose other than booking for this meeting.

Practical information about visiting Grand Lodge for Quarterly Communication Meetings
- If you are a Master Mason (i.e. you have taken your Third Degree) you are invited to attend.
- All attendees must be booked in – please see the letter for details of how we can do this for you. Simply reply in good time and before the cut off date shown above.
- If you are not yet a Lodge Warden, we also need to provide Grand Lodge with your certificate number and email address. You will then receive email confirmation around a week beforehand.
- Travel to London is left to individuals, but groups often travel together, either by train into King’s Cross or by car to Cockfosters then Tube to Holborn underground station.
- Grand Lodge is a steady twenty minute walk from Kings Cross, although Tube and cabs are also available.
- Wear the usual dark suit, white shirt and tie and take your white gloves, apron and (if applicable) collar of office.
- Do not wear the Lincolnshire Provincial Tie. Brethren must wear one of the two versions of the Grand Lodge Craft tie, (without any emblem, whether in the weave or as a coloured design) or a plain black tie.
- Only Chapter and Tercentenary Jewels may be worn.
- There are rooms to change into your apron, and cases can be stored at Grand Lodge.
- Upon arrival at Grand Lodge, go to the desk marked with numbers corresponding your Lodge number in order to book in. For example; Brethren from a Lodge with number 1234 would be admitted at desk ‘1000-1999’, or from a Lodge with number 5678 would be admitted at desk ‘5000-5999’.
- Some Brethren take regalia in a carrier bag that can be folded and put in a pocket during the ceremony.
- The ceremony lasts less than an hour and starts at midday, but Brethren must be clothed and ready to enter the Temple by 11.15am.
- Following the meeting, an optional meal for Lincolnshire Brethren is currently held at Tuttons, overlooking Covent Garden, which is a very short walk from Grand Lodge. This starts around 1.30pm.
- The closest tube stations are Holborn, Covent Garden and Leicester Square.
Freemasons’ Hall is located at 60 Great Queen Street, London WC2B 5AZ.
