Lincolnshire’s two Almoners – Charles Jackson for the Craft and John Grimwood for the Royal Arch – wish all Brethren and Companions a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
On behalf of them both, Charles writes: As we say goodbye to 2024 and step into 2025, we should reflect on the lessons learned over the past year. Challenges and setbacks faced an overcome don’t define us.
What does define us is how we choose to move forward. Every decision we make from this moment onward has the potential to create a brighter, more fulfilling path.
Working behind the scenes throughout 2024 we have continued to support the welfare of Lincolnshire Freemasons, as is shown in these statistics:
- 79 MCF grants have been awarded to our members, totalling £301,852.23 with the year not quite over.
- The Lincolnshire Old Benevolent fund, four petitions awarded totalling £9,252 for the year to December 2024
- Coffee mornings continue to be funded through the Old Fund, with £10,000 set aside annually to help our older and more vulnerable brethren in touch an avoid isolation
The Province’s funding of CHAPS PSA testing has been proven to save lives, and has been so effective that the exercise will be repeated next year at the Provincial meetings on 14th May. Booking in details will be released near the time but it’s worth mentioning that you don’t need to attend the meetings to be tested. in 2025 testing will be open to everyone over 40.
