Members of St Guthlac Freemasons’ Lodge in Deeping St James have given £650 to the Sue Ryder Hospice which serves Peterborough and the surrounding area, including South Lincolnshire.
The money was made up of £500 from the Lincolnshire Province’s New Provincial Benevolent Fund, which gives every Lodge £500 to Donte to the good cause of its choice, and £150 the St Guthlac Lodge charitable funds.
Joely said: “At Sue Ryder, we make room for the things that matter to our patients – like spending time with loved ones, sharing stories, jokes and memories, and filling their final days with love.
“We can’t give a person at the end of their life more time. But we can make that time better – by allowing them the choice of where to spend their last days, providing expert care and supporting their loved ones every step of the way.
“Your thoughtful gift will make a real difference to our work at Thorpe Hall and could fund over 30 hours of hospice care. The specialist care that Sue Ryder provides means that people’s lives are filled with friendships, family and favourite pastimes right until the end. Whether in someone’s home, or in our hospice, our expert nurses are there when it matters for our patients and their loved ones.”

IN ANOTHER INITIATIVE, Lodge treasurer Philip Sander ran a charity Quiz evening and raised £192 which was donated to the Ukraine Crisis appeal.
