Supreme Grand Chapter’s Second Grand Principal Sir David Wootton will join us for the Finale of our 2025 Festival at the Lincolnshire Showground on September 13th – and there is still time for you to book your place to be there too.
Like the majority of us, Sir David doesn’t yet know how much has been raised in our five-year fundraising challenge, in which we were asked to collect £2.25m. Although we’re comfortably above the £2m milestone, the actual figure is still being added to, and is known by a very few people. Says PGM Dave Wheeler: “We want the actual total to come as a surprise to everyone on this very special evening; sharing the number beforehand would dilute the impact of a ‘big reveal’. Having Sir David join us for the event will make it even more special.”
So by how much have we bettered £2.25million? Have we bettered it at all? To find the answer to this closely-guarded secret for yourself the instant the number is announced you’ll need to be at the Festival Finale.
Dave added: “There have been hurdles along the way to reaching the end of this Festival. Who could have predicted that a matter of weeks into it that we would be beset with the Covid pandemic and the lockdowns which followed?
“These had the potential to make a severe dent in our fund-raising efforts, but I’m proud to say that the Freemasons in this Province rose above those challenges. Persevering with fundraising efforts we will no doubt reach a total well worth celebrating, and I’d be pleased to share our landmark achievement with as many of our members as possible.”
Festival Chairman Jez Hyland added: “Fewer than half a dozen people in the Province have seen how much we’ve been able to raise, so we can promise the big reveal will be a night of real celebration. It’s open to Freemasons, non-Masonic friends, and family members. It’s bound to be a night that will live long in the memory.
