Learning more about Chapter 1: A Biblical timeline
April 17, 2020
Every Royal Arch Freemason in Lincolnshire is being invited to learn more about the degree in a new section just launched on our website.
Second Provincial Grand Principal Mike Rix is preparing the material, which starts with Biblical timeline about the building and destruction of the temple at Jerusalem, and will move on to questions about the sash and the sword (what sword, we hear you shout. Visit the page to find out…)
In a letter to all Lincolnshire Companions (for the benefit of those who are not members, they’re called Companions rather than Brothers), Provincial Grand Scribe Ezra Adrian Joyce says: “These are of course difficult times but we wanted to help you keep the messages from the Royal Arch, our brilliant degree, in mind. We are all in lock down but as Masons we are fortunate to have the support of our Brethren and Companions as well as our families. We intend to publish a number of papers that delve into the meaning within our Ceremony and perhaps explain some of the things we have all found difficult – nothing too heavy though!
“Every month the material we publish will include:
• The answers to some of the most frequently asked questions in the Province about the Royal Arch
• Conversations between Fred and Charlie, two imaginary Royal Arch Masons, who explain in more detail some of the less well-known aspects of the Chapter
• More substantial papers for those who want to go further in their reading and understanding
• Directions to the resources in Solomon which we believe will complement and take the material we send you even further
“The Provincial Executive are still hard at work on your behalf and we are available to offer assistance or advice to any of your members who may require it.
“The welfare of all of our members and those in need in the local community is very important to us. Our Almoners will require as much help as we can offer them so please think about ways you can assist those who need it and support each other through this difficult time. Could I ask you to also spare a thought and maybe a phone call to those members you haven’t seen at meetings for a while.
“And finally, if anyone should need help with a Provincial matter I can be telephoned at 01472 870042 or 07967 133372, or emailed at PGCLincs@pgllincs.org or adrian@johnwjoyce.co.uk”
